 Great TV January 10, 2009
This TV is excellent and I would reccomend it to anyone. The picture is excellent, I debated for a long time on getting the 650 but didn't like the red frame or the more expensive price. With the 5ms response time of the 550 I don't think you could tell the difference between the two. If there is any slowed or blurred movement it is not significant enough for your eye to see it. The picture looks great in both HD and regular cable, we have 10 HD channels and all others are regular cable so we do watch it a lot on cable only channels. I really don't understand why there are so many comments on the sound, it is the same as every other tv I have ever owned and I plan on eventually getting surround sound. I had planned on doing it right away before I got the tv due to the comments on how bad the sound was, but after recieving it the sound is fine. The shipping was fantastic, it arrived 3 days earlier than expected. They called 2 days ahead to schedule a time, and the driver called when he was approximately 30 minutes away. He unloaded the tv and I willingly took it in the house and made sure there was no cosmetic damage and that it worked properly. You can't beat that for free shipping, I don't think Best Buy will drop it off at your driveway for free.
 be careful January 9, 2009
i purchased this tv in july of 2008. it sat in the box while i was gone, and i finally hooked it up in October 2008. i've since had to send it to get repaired twice. once for the power supply and a second time for the board. everything has been replaced except the sound box and the screen. luckily it was still under manufacturers warranty. i had head bad things about deal with samsung customer service, but i had no problems. i called them up, they gave me a local repair shop and they came out and picked up the TV and fixed it. picture is great on the TV otherwise. i really like it. i would recommend buying the extended warranty just in case. i didn't and now i'm hoping nothing else goes wrong with it
Great picture but the audio is below average. January 9, 2009
The television picture is great and the options are very user friendly, however the audio is not very good at all. The volume of the audio fluctuates when it goes from a HD channel to a non HD channel. I'm not sure if that is a problem of the TV or Direct TV. Otherwise the TV is very good for the price.
I bought two of these!! January 7, 2009
I purchased two of these for a gift to our family. I had been shopping around and this price beat every one else. We couldn't be happier with our new TV's. I was very happy with the delivery. Man brought them in and unpacked them, plugged them in and turned them on. Delivery was great.
The Tv's have a wonderful picture. We have surround sound on one and the other just using the speakers on the TV. I am very happy with my purchase and will not hesitate to buy from Amazon.com. This is my first major purchase from Amazon and it will not be my last.
